  • South Korea's defense minister-designate says that South Korea will hit back with air strikes if North Korea launches any more military attacks.
Speaking at his parliamentary confirmation hearing Friday, retired general Kim Kwan-Jin dismissed fears that retaliation could escalate into a war, citing the prowess of the South Korean and U.S. militaries.
Meanwhile, the United States said North Korea may be hiding more nuclear sites with potential military uses after revealing its construction of a uranium enrichment facility.
