How to get e-Visa in Cambodia

    Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Royal Government of Cambodia and International Cooperation has launched e-Visa, which enables visitor to apply for a Cambodia tourist visa online. Instead of applying through Cambodian Embassy, in order to apply e-Visa you need to complete the online application form and pay with your credit card (there are two type of payment methods, see below type of payment).

    ***Note*** After you received your Visa through email, please print it out and bring it along with you when you travel to Cambodia.

    Extend your stay in Cambodia (VIsa)

  • The following visa extensions are possible:
    • Diplomatic, Official and Courtesy visas may obtain a multiple entry visa valid for a maximum of one (1) year.
    • Tourist visas can be extended only once for single entry up to one month.
    • Ordinary visas can be extended for:
      • Single entry with a stay of either one (1) month or three (3) months.
      • Multiple entries for a stay of either six (6) months up to (12) months.

    PROCEDURE RELATED TO LOST PASSPORTS

    A foreigner whose passport is either lost or stolen in the Kingdom of Cambodia must take the following steps before attempting to leave the country:
    • File a report at the nearest local police station within 24 hours.
    • Present the police report to your embassy and apply for a new passport or another travel document.
    • Bring your new passport or other travel document, police report and a letter of verification from the embassy to the Immigration Department to obtain your exit visa.
    OVERSTAYERS
    People who overstay their period of stay will be fined $US 5 for everyday they overstay plus be required to pay for an extension to their visa of US$ 30.
    People who breach their visa conditions may be fined US$ 100 and must depart the country within seven (7) days.

    Cost and Condition of Visa in Cambodia

  • COST

    As at 2009 the fees for Cambodian visas are as follows:
    • Tourist visa           -    US$ 20
    • Ordinary visa        -    US$ 25
    • Transit visa            -    US$15
    Diplomatic, Official, Courtesy, Visa K and child under 12 years old are issued gratis.

    CONDITIONS

    Validity/Expiry Date

    For visas issued at Cambodian missions abroad or as a visa-on-arrival the validity for Diplomatic, Official and Courtesy visas is three (3) months and the validity for the remaining visa classes is one (1) month from the date of issue, irrespective of where they are issued. Please note that the “Expiry Date” is the date where the visa is no longer valid. The permitted length of stay is indicated underneath.

    Period of Stay

    For visas issued at Cambodian missions abroad or as a visa-on-arrival the period of stay for Diplomatic, Official and Courtesy visas is up to three (3) months. Tourist and ordinary visa holders receive up to one (1) month stay, transit visa holders will receive up to five (5) days stay and holders of a Special ‘K’ visa will be permitted to remain permanently.

    Number of Journeys

    All visas issued allow for one (1) or single journey only. Single entry visas will be stamped “used” when passing through passport control at the checkpoint and a new visa will be required to return to Cambodia.

    Type of Visa in Cambodia

  • According to the article 4 of Sub-Decree No. 75 of the Royal Government of Cambodia, specifies that there are seven types of visas.

    1. Diplomatic Visa

    A diplomatic visa may be issued to holders of diplomatic passports and their dependents, if they are entering Cambodia to carry out official diplomatic missions. This visa may also be granted to holders of diplomatic passports if they visit Cambodia in their private capacity. A diplomatic visa is identified by the capital letter A.

    2. Official Visa

    This visa is granted to foreigners entering Cambodia to perform missions with governmental international organizations whose status is recognized by agreements with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This visa is also granted to foreigners holding official passports on non-official business. An official visa is identified by the capital letter B.

    3. Courtesy Visa

    Courtesy visas are granted to visitors and their dependents in situations which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and/or other ministries regard as acts of politeness or courtesy. A courtesy visa is identified by the capital letter C.

    4. Tourist Visa

    A tourist visa is issued to foreigners who enter Cambodia for private, tourist and sightseeing purposes. A tourist visa is identified by the capital letter T.

    5. Ordinary Visa

    This visa is granted to foreigners entering Cambodia not covered by any other visa. It includes business people, students and labor migrants. It is identified by the capital letter E.

    6. Transit Visa

    This visa is granted to foreigners transiting Cambodia on route to a third country or a member of a crew. A transit visa is identified by the capital letter D.

    7. Special 'K' Visa

    This visa is granted to person who original nationality was Cambodian and hold foreign passport. The applicant has to provide well document evidence such as proof that one parent were Cambodian. A special visa is identified by the capital letter K.

    How to apply Visa in Cambodia

  • Applications for a visa must be made in either English or Khmer and the following is required when applying for any visa:
    • A completed visa application form
    • A passport with at least 3 months validity from the intended date of departure from Cambodia
    • One recent passport sized photograph (4x6 cm)

    WHERE TO APPLY

    Cambodian visa can be obtained by the following:
    • Up on Arrival at any of Cambodia’s international border checkpoints (refer to the section “Checkpoints” for a list of Cambodia’s international airports, seaports and land checkpoints). The application form can be obtained on the flight or at the visa counter.
    • Any of Cambodia embassy

    In addition, the following is required for each of the following visa classes:

    Diplomatic visa

    • Third person note or Note Verbal

    Official visa

    • Letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation or be the holder of an Official Passport (If you are coming to Cambodia to work for a non-governmental organization or International Organization, your employers should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation before your arrival in order to make the proper arrangements).

    Courtesy visa

    • Letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

    Tourist visa:

    • Appropriate visa fee
    • Demonstrate that they have sufficient funds for their stay
    • A return or onward ticket or evidence of an onward journey

    Ordinary visa:

    • Appropriate visa fee
    • For people coming for business purposes - supporting business documentation, either a local business sponsor letter or business license or evidence of previous business activity

    Transit visa

    • Appropriate fee
    • A return or onward ticket or evidence of an onward journey

    Special “K” visa

    • Provide evidence that at least one parent  is Cambodian

    How To Access To Cambodia

  • There are so many place that you can access to Cambodia. Cambodia has a lot of beautiful place to visite, it’s really safe and easy to access, and all types of the tourists can get access to Cambodia through International Gateways by Air, International Gateways Land and International Gateways Water.

    International Gateways by Air:
     
    The Visitors can access their visa on arrival and E-visa at Phnom Penh International Airport  and Siem Reap International Airport, but the visa on arrival at the Sihanoukville International Airport is on requesting.
     

    International Gateways by Land:

    * Gateways between Cambodia and Thailand:
    Right now the visa on arrival and E-visa for all type of visitors are available at Poipet, Cham Yeam, O Smach, Choam, Prom and Dong.

    * Gateways between Cambodia and Laos: The visitors can access their visa on arrival and E-visa at Trapaing Kreal.

    * Gateways between Cambodia and Vietnam:
    Visitors can access their visa on arrival and E-visa at Bavet, Kaam Samnor, Phnom Den,  Trapaing Phlong, Trapaing Srè, Oyadav, Banteay Chakrei, Preak Chak and  Samrong

    International Gateways by Water:

    The visa on arrival also available for all type of visitors at Phnom Penh International Port and Sihanouk Ville International Seaport too.
